The State of Sound

AUDIO EXPERIENCE FROM FRANCE

Best Wishes for 2014

bonne année 2014

I want to wish you a very happy new year; may it be filled with color and music! Santa Claus also came by here and left a nice gift: the blog has gotten 100,000 page views in the few months that it has been in existence. Therefore, thank you all for your High degree of Fidelity. More and more of you are reading the State of Sound.

As 2014 gets underway, many projects and numerous reports are in the works. You can count on my enthusiasm as I continue to uncompromisingly explore the offerings of the French HIFI market and introduce you to the major players on the scene. These are people who, in one way or another, contribute to the long and impressive chain of sound reproduction, all without forgetting the artists, who bring music to life for our listening pleasure.

In the meantime, don’t give up! It is prudent to remain vigilant when faced with a stream of information that all too often simply reflects the marketing power of certain brands; we may sometimes doubt the real value of their products, whose prices are completely unjustifiable. Indeed, decent, reasonably priced solutions exist. Using sound systems as evidence, I will try to demonstrate this to you.

Unknown-3What’s more, the State of Sound is going to visit the U.K., which is another major nation of audiophiles in Europe. I will publish features that will allow you to discover British HIFI customs and practices and meet up with the players behind the products that are “Made in Britain.”

Unknown-5Finally, with the goal of improving the content, format, and evolution of this blog, I need your input. Please, it won’t take more than two minutes to respond to this very short questionnaire, and your responses can remain anonymous if you prefer.

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts.
